Whether it’s used for storage or as a safe place to park your cars, most suburban homes have a garage. To open your garage, most people use either a portable garage door opener they store in their car, or a garage keypad that is usually found on the frame of the door.
But now there is a third option. Garageio is a new technology that allows you to open your garage from your smart phone.
Garageio includes a hardware device that stays in your garage and an app that allows for full control of the door. Simply attach the hardware, which is a small black box, to the door and connect it to your wireless network. Then you download the free Garageio app on your smartphone and you’re ready to go.
With the app, you can not only open the door as you pull in the driveway, but you can control your garage door(s) from anywhere in the world and give as many as 10 users access. The app will deliver real-time alerts when your door is left open and features an activity log that shows you who accessed your garage and when.
From someone who had a garage keypad that never worked, I’m wishing Garageio was invented a long time ago. Garageio is currently running a Fundable campaign with 60 days left. Help them out with a donation of $129 or more and you’ll receive a Garageio kit for a single-door garage.
