IKEA is set to debut a sleek new trio of smart home integrated sensors, with an emphasis on affordability and being easy to use.

"At IKEA, we want to make smarter living simpler and more convenient for everyone. Our new sensors merge technology with our home furnishing expertise, to provide affordable solutions that elevate everyday moments at home”, said David Granath, Range Manager at IKEA of Sweden.

PARASOLL is a sensor that can be discretely mounted on your windows or doors to monitor an open or closed action. VALLHORN, the wireless motion sensor, activates lights when movement is detected. It can also be used outdoors thanks to the IP44 weatherproof rating, and the colour and intensity of the lights are fully customizable. Finally, the BADRING sensor will send you notifications or a loud 60-decibel alarm if it detects a water leak.

The sensors are part of a growing line of smart home integrated products, like Sonos-based speakers, smart lighting, air purifiers, remotes, and light switches. All three sensors are compatible with IKEA’s DIRIGERA smart hub and can be controlled via the IKEA Smart Home mobile app, while the VALLHORN is the only sensor in the trio compatible with the older Trådfri smart home gateway. The DIRIGERA hub also allows integration with Google, Amazon, and Apple smart home ecosystems.

The PARASOLL and VALLHORN will be available come January 2024, followed by BADRING in April 2024.
