Creating an Amazon Baby Wishlist is a smart and stress-free way to organise all the must-haves for your little one’s arrival. Even better, you can share your wish list with family and friends, so they’ll know exactly what to get to keep your baby smiling and snug.

And let’s be honest—your friends don’t always know what you need. This way, there’s no more awkward guessing games when it comes to baby gifts. Your friends and fam will get you things that you actually want, and you won’t end up with five identical teddies.

How to create your Amazon Baby Wishlist

  1. Head to Amazon Baby Wishlist.
  2. Click ‘get started’.
  3. Fill in your information and specify your due date.
  4. Click on ‘Create my Baby Wishlist’, and start adding products to the wishlist!

Once you’ve added your products and created your list, now it's time to share it with family and friends! Simply share via the email link provided by Amazon, or copy and paste the link to your Baby Wishlist across social networks or to your baby shower invite. It's the perfect way to make gift-giving simple and stress-free.

Adding to your checklist

The Amazon Baby Wishlist also has an inbuilt checklist of things new mums typically need, which includes most of what we mentioned above. As you add to your wishlist, the checklist is automatically ticked off. If you’re a second or third-time mum and already have a stroller, and nappy bag (for example), you can manually check them off from the list too. There are many other lists you can look to for inspiration, such as smart products that can play lullabies or dim your smart lights, or top-rated and best-selling items bought by Australian parents.

Amazon Baby Wishlist products to include

Here are some things you might like to add to your Amazon Baby Wishlist.

Bathing

Bath tub

SafeWise recommends
Skip Hop baby bath tub

Price is accurate as of post date. Read full disclaimer.

Many parents incorporate bath time into their night-time routine, and if you're looking for the perfect bath for your newborn that's also suitable for when they become toddlers, then the Skip Hop Moby 3-in-1 Baby Bath could be perfect to add to your wishlist. It's designed to bathe your child across three stages, from newborn to infant and toddler, thanks to the included adjustable sling. Once your baby is sitting, you can remove the sling and have them sitting upright in the whale-shaped tub. Cute!

Hooded towels

Safewise recommends
grey hooded baby towels in elephant and polar bear designs

Price is accurate as of post date. Read full disclaimer.

Baby towels are often designed with little hoods to make drying their head and hair much easier and to keep them warm post bath. Hooded towels are both practical and cute, making them the perfect baby shower gift.

Bath thermometer

Safewise recommends

Price is accurate as of post date. Read full disclaimer.

Sure, you can stick your elbow in your baby's bath to work out if it's a good temperature for your baby, or you can get a bath thermometer and take out the guesswork. Plus, they often come in very cute designs and can double up as a bath toy.

Bath toys

Boon Bath Fleet Toys
Colourful Boon Bath Fleet Toys
Price is accurate as of post date. Read full disclaimer.

Avoid bath toys that get water inside them (think rubber duckies that squirt out water) as this is the PERFECT place for bacteria and mould to thrive. Instead, choose baby bath toys where water can easily drain out, and better still, ones that can put in the dishwasher for a thorough clean and disinfectant.

Sleeping

Sheets

Safewise recommends

Price is accurate as of post date. Read full disclaimer.

You'll need cot or bassinet sheets when bub arrives, and a couple of them too to account for spews, dribbles and leaky nappies. Make sure the fabric is something natural and breathable, like cotton. Bonus if they're cute, too, like these forest green sheets by Bubba Blue.

Baby monitor

Safewise recommends

Price is accurate as of post date. Read full disclaimer.

A baby monitor helps you keep an eye on your bundle of joy while they're sleeping in another room. There are loads of options when it comes to baby monitors from Wi-Fi and non-Wi-Fi versions, HD and Standard definition and a whole array of features and extras.

Dummies

Safewise recommends
Two green and clear dummies

Price is accurate as of post date. Read full disclaimer.

Dummies (or soothers as they're sometimes called) are a personal preference for parents. Some avoid them, some find them a life-saver. The recommendation is to not give babies' under 4 weeks a dummy, but for many parents, once bub is old enough, they can be a great tool to help your baby to settle and sleep. Choose ones that are BPA free.

Clothing

Leggings

Safewise recommends
Orange baby leggings by Bonds

Price is accurate as of post date. Read full disclaimer.

Leggings ae a great pairing with pants-less onesies, making it easier to change up colours and patterns day-today.

Onesies

Safewise recommends

Short-sleeved, long-sleeved; onesies will be a clothing staple in the early days. They're great as pyjamas and for daywear, too. Plus with loads of cute designs, they make a cute gift, too.

Swaddling blankets

Not quite clothing but still very useful, swaddling blankets are what babies will 'wear' to bed instead of blankets (it is not recommended for babies to have anything in their cots and bassinets, like blankets and pillows. See Red Nose for more information.) These can be muslin cloths, jersey cotton squares or blankets used to wrap up your bub like a burrito for bed time.

Singlets

It's handy to have a few singlets to wear underneath onesies to help keep bub nice and warm, especially in the early days and over the cooler months. Likewise, if you have a summer baby, singlets will be a bit cooler for them to wear as opposed to a onesie.

Socks

Safewise recommends
pairs of baby socks with animal designs

Price is accurate as of post date. Read full disclaimer.

There's nothing on this earth quite as adorable as baby socks. Lots of onesies have built-in socks already, but it's worth having a few pairs to go with any pants of leggings you have got. As babies get older and start to walk, you can get socks with anti-slip grip to avoid them slipping too much.

Bibs

Safewise recommends
Green and blue silicone bibs

Price is accurate as of post date. Read full disclaimer.

Bibs won't come in handy until bub starts eating solids, but when they do, you'll be glad to have something protecting their clothes from puree! You can buy cloth bibs, and also silicone bibs with little pouches that catch rogue food and keep your little on clean (well... cleaner).

Booties

They're just so cute! Little newborns won't need shoes until they're getting closer to walking age, but booties are a nice way to keep their feet extra warm.

Jumpers

Especially important for winter and cooler climates, it's handy to have a few jumpers for bub so you can layer up and keep them nice and warm.

Breastfeeding

Breastpump

Safewise recommends
Price is accurate as of post date. Read full disclaimer.

If you're planning to express milk and feed your baby with a bottle, you'll need a breast pump to make it a bit easier. This Medela Single Pump is perfect for semi-regular pumping, and is easy to take on-the-go with you.

Nipple shields

Safewise recommends
a pair of silver moogco nipple shields

Price is accurate as of post date. Read full disclaimer.

Breastfeeding can leave your nipples feeling sore, especially when they rub against the fabric of your nursing bra. These silver nipple cups by Moogco help ease the friction by creating a shield for your nipples.

Nursing cover

Breastfeeding in public is pretty widely accepted these days, but if you would prefer a little privacy when out and about, a nursing cover is a great product to give you and bub a little quiet retreat. They're also called muslin cloths - a soft, light and breathable fabric, which can also be used as a swaddle or a light summer blanket in the pram.

Nursing bras

Safewise recommends
three black nursing bras

Price is accurate as of post date. Read full disclaimer.

When you're breastfeeding a hungry bubba, you'll want a bra that makes feeding as easy as possible. Nursing bras are specifically designed to be easily unclasped with one hand so you can pull the fabric away in a quick swift movement.

Baby bottles

If you're pumping or planning to use formula, you'll also need bottles to put the milk in. These are one of those things that you'll probably need more than you think, so they can make a great, practical gift from friends and family.

High chair

Not so important for the early days, but once your baby is sitting and starting to eat solids, a high chair will become a much-needed piece of furniture. Choose ones that are easy to clean and wipe down.

Playtime

Activity mat

Safewise recommends

Price is accurate as of post date. Read full disclaimer.

Play gyms are a great way to engage your baby while they enjoy floor time and tummy time. They usually have toys hanging from a bar above them, giving babies something to look at and reach out for. Play gyms often come with mats, too, that have exciting textures and colours for babies to discover.

Teething toys

Safewise recommends
sophie the giraffe teething toy
Price is accurate as of post date. Read full disclaimer.

This gift won't be required immediately as babies are unlikely to get their first teeth before 4 months old (and often much later) but when they do, parents will be glad to have some teething toys on hand.

Sophie the Giraffe is a much-loved teething toy, and this gift set has three pieces to help soothe sore gums. It’s made from 100% natural rubber and high quality food-grade paint. There’s the classic teething toy, a teething ring, and also a teething keyring to keep handy.

Baby books

Safewise recommends

Price is accurate as of post date. Read full disclaimer.

Books are a lovely gift for a baby and can be used for years at story time. But if you want something that bub can engage with in the early days, a contrast book is a good addition to the baby bookshelf.

Newborns have quite limited sight for the first few weeks/months, so high contrast black and white books are designed with this in mind.

Stacking rings

Safewise recommends
colourful stacking rings

Price is accurate as of post date. Read full disclaimer.

Stacking rings are a great toy option for babies - as they can double as chewable teething toys. Plus as they get older, they help babies develop find motor skills like stacking the rings on top of each other.

Travel

Baby car seat

A baby car seat is one of the big ticket baby items you'll need to get if you plan on driving around with bub. It's advised you get them installed professionally, as around 70% of car seats are installed incorrectly in Australia. Choose one that meets the safety requirements in Australia, and avoid buying them second-hand.

Pram

Safewise recommends
Safe n Sound Cosy LUX 4-1 stroller
Price is accurate as of post date. Read full disclaimer.

Choosing a pram is one of the big ticket items when you’re expecting a baby, and with many affordable options on the market, you might add it to your wish list so friends and family can gift you one.

Despite its cheaper price tag, the Safe N Sound Cosy LUX 4-in-1 stroller still boasts many of the features that the high-end prams do. It's got an extra long sun canopy to protect your little one from UV rays, plus plenty of storage underneath for shopping and groceries.

Baby carrier

Safewise recommends
Lillebaby-All-Seasons-Baby-Carrier

Price is accurate as of post date. Read full disclaimer.

A baby carrier is a great way to have use of your hands while your baby sleeps on you. Whether you go for a walk in the park, or start getting dinner ready, a baby carrier is a highly useful way to transport bub, keeping them snug and cosy while you get on with your day.

Nappy bag

A nappy bag helps new parents carry all the essentials around with them - nappies, wipes, spare clothes, bottles - you name it. And there are some really nice (and practical) designs out there, with plenty of pockets and storage for everything you might need for a day out with bub

When to create a Amazon Baby Wishlist

Most parents start collating products for their wishlist or baby registry around 12 weeks into their pregnancy. If you’re waiting to find out the baby’s gender, you may want to wait until about 20 weeks, or after you’ve found out the gender. You should give yourself ample time to find the right products and decide which items you need most.

Amazon Baby Wish List discounts

The great thing about creating a baby wishlist on Amazon is that you can receive a 10% Completion Discount (or 15% for Amazon Prime members). These are available on select items if you purchase them between 60 days prior and up to 90 days after your due date (and at least 14 days after creating the wishlist). Not only this but if you spend over $39 on eligible items (which you probably will, considering how expensive baby gear can be!) you can receive a free welcome gift.

How to redeem your discount

To redeem your completion discount:

  1. Click on the message above your baby wishlist to access your Completion Discount view. These will display all eligible items and your discount amount.
  2. Add eligible items to your shopping cart from the Completion Discount view.
  3. The Completion Discount will be applied at checkout to all eligible items.

That's it!

Final word

The Amazon Baby Wishlist is a great way to keep track of what new bub needs. It's also an easy way to share these essentials with friends and family. Welcoming a new baby into the family can be stressful, but the efficiency of the Amazon Baby Wishlist may help alleviate some of this stress.
