Self defense for women by women

We met with Safely to learn about this virtual event for women (and allies) of all ages and skill levels. Safely started as a group project at the University of Texas and is now one of the leading women-led organizations promoting safety for women on college campuses and beyond.

What you'll learn

This class isn't about martial arts belts or fancy footwork. It's about simple, effective techniques that could make all the difference in a tough situation. Topics include:

  • How to spot potential threats early and avoid danger before it escalates
  • Verbal tools to shut down uncomfortable or creepy encounters
  • What to do in an active shooter situation
  • Easy, actionable self-defense moves anyone can learn
  • How to use safety tools like pepper spray and the Safely Sidekick with confidence

The class ends with a live Q&A, allowing attendees to get personal safety questions answered by the pros.
