Ever wanted your SimpliSafe security system to connect to your smoke detectors so that someone can call for help if you're unable to? Got smoke detectors that aren't "smart" and don't want the hassle (and expense) of changing them out for ones that connect to your system? SimpliSafe thinks they have the solution.

September 16, 2025, SimpliSafe introduced the SimpliSafe Smoke & Carbon Monoxide (CO) Alarm Listener. How it works is it listens for your smoke or CO detectors to go off. Then, it will send the information to the SimpliSafe base.

Here are some more features:

  • Fast emergency response: When an alarm is detected, the Listener communicates with the base station, which alerts both the homeowner and SimpliSafe’s monitoring center to request emergency help—even if the user can’t be contacted.
  • Certified microphone technology: Its built-in microphone is UL-certified to distinguish between smoke and CO alarm sounds, sending the correct signal to the base station for dependable monitoring.
  • Real-time alerts: If triggered, the system instantly pushes notifications through the SimpliSafe app so users know about potential danger right away.
  • Covers multiple alarms in hardwired systems: If your smoke and CO detectors are interconnected, just one Listener can monitor the entire system. For battery-powered detectors, a Listener is recommended at each unit.
  • Simple DIY setup: With no wiring required, the Alarm Listener installs quickly using the step-by-step guide in the SimpliSafe app.
  • Extended battery life: The Listener runs on a long-life battery designed to last up to three years before needing replacement.
